There is built-in hot shoe, optical viewfinder even a diopter adjustment feature. The camera comes with Li-Ion battery, charger and cam strap, AV and USB cables. Nikon has released an update for P7000, that deals with recording time for RAW pictures, zoom, lens focus and even the issue of monitor highlight loss when the D-lighting is enabled. Design and Build Quality
The body is all metallic and the look is that of a classic rage finder camera. In compliance to the affordability, the finish and fitness of the cam seems all in good health. Though it falls in the class of compact but it doesnt fit in shirt pocket. At the right front of the camera there is grip area covered with rubber. Another patch at the back of the body if for thumb rest. Top and back of the camera are covered with physical controls. Rear also includes monitor, viewfinder, multi-selector and command dial. Focus and Face Detection
Under smart portrait system includes face-detection AF. The function comes with an in-camera red eye fix feature. Skin softening, smile timer and blink warning are the features that make it just the product for shooting of family time indoors. Another exciting feature is interval timer in Nikon Coolpix P7000. But when you want to shoot say suppose a lamp, you would not be able to find center target with autofocus. The background would get chosen instead. So still come out better than does the videos.
Lens and Image Stabilization

Screen and Menus
Menus in Nikon Coolpix P7000 are playback, setup and shooting. All the three are available in manual modes but shooting mode is not, in auto mode. The shooting menu becomes scene menu in mode of scene. It only includes single or continuous AF options. The wind noise can also be cut off. Navigating menus is a simple task. To format media or internal memory, you can simply log to setup menu. There are nine shooting modes in P7000 viz. Scene mode will get you to dive into 18 scene-specific shoot modes, that optimize the cam settings for a particular scene. With Low noise night mode; auto mode with ISO is set high. Capturing RAW image is not available at this moment. Program Auto, manual setting, aperture and shutter priority all can be availed as you move through the menus. The three inches wide LCD monitor has 9,21,000 dots and has five levels of brightness. 97 percent of the screen gets covered when you are shooting and 100 percent gets covered for playback.
Nikon Coolpix P7000 gets empowered by 7.4volt. With 1030mAh EN-EL14 lithium-ion battery you can have 350 stills under the CIPA rated conditions.
You can capture videos at 1280x720 frame format, that means at 720p HD. Other resolutions include 640x480, 320x240 resolution, all at 24 frames per second. The maximum clip length is 29 minutes. Video format is mp4 AVC/H.264. Audio for recording is AAC stereo in Nikon Coolpix P7000.
Nikon Coolpix P7000 holds a 10.1 megapixel, 1/1.7 inches CCD sensor. If in low light you rol back the pixel count then you get low noise. Max image resolution is 3648x2736 pixels. The sensor is not as large as SLR and DSLR sensor.
