Honda Amaze VX i DTEC Description
Yes, by the time you read this, you already know why exactly did this car, Honda Amaze, created all the hype that it did. And true, it deserves it all. Without much bragging, let's get to the basic from the very beginning. Honda Amaze VX i DTEC is one among the 10 different variants that the car was launched in, of which 6 were petrol and 4 available in diesel. The current variant being talked about here is the diesel variant among the sub-4 meter manual transmission compact sedans. Much important is the fact that Amaze is Honda's entry into the diesel-car arena. It comes with a 1.5 litre, i-DTEC engine, which is pretty light for its weight, thus helping in keeping the overall weight pretty low, thus making it all the more powerful and efficient. The engine is capable of generating a maximum power of 98.6BHP at 3600RPM, which when combined with its highest torque measuring 200Nm at 1750RPM. Such power when combines with a 5-speed, 4 cylinder, DOHC, 1496cc engine, the outcome vehicle has to have a highly improved driveability, thus Amaze. All this, and an amazing fuel economy of 25.8kmpl renders it one of the best car to own and easily the most fuel efficient car raging currently in the country.
To talk of the braking and handling of Honda Amaze VX i DTEC, one thing is sure since it comes from Honda, which is the fact that Honda always, as a rule, puts in the best of parts with highest quality. 5 speed manual transmission when put along with such a world-class, state-of-art engine in the car, it becomes the safest on highways. There has been embedded a McPherson Strut suspension upfront, torsion beam at the rear, which when gets together with disc brakes at the front with drum brakes at the rear, makes it an equally swift and smooth ride on city roads as well. Next to these, Honda has also made it extensively safe to drive with anti-lock braking system (ABS) with electronic-brake distribution (EBD), which helps against jerks on sudden brake application, seat belts, engine immobilizer, dual SRS airbags, etc. Now to talk of comfort factors, Honda Amaze VX i DTEC gets power steering with tilt feature, electrically operated windows at the front, manual AC which also has heating capabilities, central locking, heat absorbing front windshield, electrically operated ORVMs integrated with turn indicators, to make it comfortable. Not to forget here is the philosophy followed by Honda, 'Man Maximum, Machine Minimum', according to which Amaze has been blessed with an ample amount of space, such that it can be easily be called luxurious.
Being luxuriously spacious from the inside, Honda Amaze VX i DTEC is just as compact from the outside. Not less than a painter's job, Amaze looks a speedy beauty. Quite much of it would immediately remind of Brio, which actually is its elder sibling. The front of Amaze is almost like Brio, with the difference being that Amaze has been given an aggressive look with the front grille having been divided into two with the Honda badge in the exact centre on the grille. The front bumper has been also been given some masculineness. The air intake, which has been positioned under the twin-slat horizontal chrome grille, looks absolutely smart with those stroke lines. Next to the air intake are the fog lamps, making it look good. Looks of the grille is enhanced by headlamp cluster placed next to it. As against Brio, Honda has gifted alloy wheels to Amaze. If you look at it from the back, you'd find the rear complimenting the front. The way the boot has been designed is the most amazing part of the car.
Being a compact sedan, people worried about the boot, which in every compact sedan looks like it has been added post the car-designing. Not so in Amaze. In Amaze, the boot is as much a part of the car as is the front and the body, all thanks to the side creases that start from the front wheel arch, ends at the rear door knob, and then starts another crease starting from the read door handle, ending at the boot. This enhances the overall looks of the car, pretty much the best looking compact sedans of the current generation. The tail lamps are well integrated into the body, which are beautified by the Honda badge, rear bumper, body colored ORVMs and blinkers. The car has ground clearance measuring up to 165mm, turning radius 4.6 meter, along with sporting a 14 inch, 8 spoke 175/65 R14 alloy wheels.
