Expert Review of Hyundai i10
India’s second largest auto manufacturer company Hyundai Motor Company launched its premium hatchback model Hyundai i10. The design of the hatchback is a definite a plus point, for it gets a high standing among its competitors. The company has certainly added a lot of energy and effort, to make the Hyundai i10 look much more aggressive than before. The interiors are nice and cozy, and there have been many tweaks done over time by Hyundai. This is the facelift version that has been launched in the Indian markets rather than the International model of Hyundai i10. The hatchback comes in 14 different variants with two different petrol engines. The Hyundai i10 is also available in LPG variants to make it economic and environment friendly, as the skyrocketing prices of petrol acts as a disincentive. The interior design of Hyundai i10 is now more stylish with light-brown and beige two-tone color scheme for the dashboard.
Mileage and Fuel Economy
The Hyundai i10 comes packed with two different engines and their mileage figures differ a little. The IRDE (intelligent responsive drive engine) offers a mileage of 14kmpl on the city roads and 19.8kmpl on highways. A new technological advanced Kappa engine in other variants is a little more fuel-efficient and does not compromise with the performance. It gives a mileage around 15.4kmpl on city roads and 20.3kmpl on highways. The Manual Shift Indicator that is a first-in-class feature available in Hyundai i10 helps to achieve the maximum fuel efficiency by optimum gear usage.
Hyundai i10 is available in many striking and eye warming colors like Carbon Grey, Crystal White, Stone Beige, Sleek Silver, Garnet Red, Phantom Black, Ice Silver and Electric Red respectively.
Acceleration and Pick up
The IRDE engine propels the Hyundai i10 from standstill to 100kmph in less than 16seconds and easily touches the mark of 149kmph. On the contrary, the Kappa engine is also very efficient, for it enables to cross the mark of 100kmph in just 13.02seconds and can achieve the top speed mark of 151kmph. However, the automatic variants with Kappa engine offers a bit lower acceleration and achieve the top speed only up to 140kmph.
The new Hyundai i10 looks very fresh and appealing due to its different enthralling looks. The new radiator grille with the big wide air dam throws a pinch of aggressiveness, but gives the car, a refined and clean front fascia. The rear bumpers add grace and strength to the rear of the hatchback. The rear spoiler with the high-mount stop lamp presents a dazzling look from the rear. The slanting elongated wrap around clear headlamps add exquisiteness to the front face, while the new uniquely shaped fog lamps, neatly embedded in chrome surrounds, complement that look. The long and sleek tail lamps brighten the rear and enhance visibility. The turn indicators on the outside mirrors increase the safety while turning and buttress the style factor too. On the contrary, the OVRMs are electrically adjustable and possess the first-in-class heated function.
In the department of comfort, the hatchback again takes a high position. The legroom and headroom are quite spacious and made to accommodate five adult persons. The seats of the car are ergonomically designed with attached headrests. In addition, the Hyundai i10 cabin is insulated from the engine noise, and provides front and rear door full size armrests, rear parcel tray and seat back pockets. Hyundai i10 is equipped with front power windows and very efficient air conditioner with heater in all variants. Features like power windows in the front and rear, height-adjustable driver seat, motor-driven power steering and steering wheel remote control, the first-in-class foldable key, remote locking and unlocking facility with burglar alarm add to convenience and safety. This engine is mated with an accurate 5 speed manual transmission. The new 1.2L Kappa engine having 4 cylinders, 16 valves, DOHC (double overhead camshaft) with VTVT technology is quite powerful. It has a swept volume of 1197cc accompanied with 78.9BHP at 6000RPM and a peak torque to be 111.7Nm at 4000RPM respectively. Handling and Control
Hyundai i10 comes with disc brakes on its front wheels and drum brakes in its rear wheels with ABS technology (Antilock Brake System). In pressure braking situations, the brakes perform well and look planted. The car comes with power steering that is very responsive and enables the driver to control the car easily.

The car is fitted with a not so smooth engine and priced a little higher.
