With the mHawk140 with 5th generation variable geometry turbocharger engine mated to a 6 speed manual transmission of the Mahindra XUV 500 helps the vehicle rush from 0 – 100kmph in about 12.5 seconds as per the company. The vehicle delivers a top speed of 175kmph.
The stance of the Mahindra XUV 500 W6 2WD gives it a very tough look and the designing doesn't remind one of the typical boxy-styled vehicles which Mahindra is popular for, which by the way is a good thing. The SUV is designed with detailing and the car looks very well sculpted. The front fascia of the vehicle is very unique with its jaw-like honeycomb grille, neatly designed front bumper and nicely placed fog lamps. The other features like the prominently designed wheel arches, sporty looking roof – rail, the unique vertical paw – styled door handles and vertical designed tail lamps etc add to the sporty character. The arches over the wheels add to the muscle of the vehicle and give the car a very aggressive and a muscular stance.

Mahindra XUV 500 W6 2WD is a decently sized car with a length of 4585mm, width of 1890mm, height of 1785mm and a wheelbase of 2700mm. The ground clearance of 200mm makes it a very decent drive on all kinds of terrain. The wheelbase gives the SUV, quite a wide stance, adding to the muscularity of the car.

Mahindra XUV 500 W6 2WD stands on P235/65 R17 tubeless radial tyres. The 17inch wheels with full wheel caps, not only add to the looks of the vehicle but also give it a very decent and a balanced ride. The suspension system, McPherson type with anti – roll bars in the front and Multilink type with anti – roll bar rear suspension, adds to this further and helps give a very joyful ride.

Handling and Control
With 17inch tyres and a good suspension system along with power steering, the vehicle delivers a very stable drive especial thanks to the wide wheelbase. The XUV500 drives on rough patches with comfort, though the side to side sway due to its size can be felt sometimes. The disc and caliper type front and rear brakes give a good control over the brakes and the ABS with EBD further helps keeping this large Cheetah inspired vehicle, tamed.
Looks and design, strong diesel engine, long list of features.
Finish in the cabin is a little disappointing.
