Expert Review of Skoda Fabia
Skoda Fabia has arrived to infuse some muscle to the frail looking hatchbacks in Indian hatchback market. Its strong and aggressive exterior lines across the frame of its strong steeled body adorned with chrome finished front grille, black foil on pillars and halogen headlamps give it a tough look that is equivalent to a sports car. At the same time the roomy interiors shaded in ivory hues highlighted by chromed borders and embellished with luxuriously textured seat fabrics, silver finished gear and soft padded dashboard place it in league of premium sedans. So what is this car really about? It’s a super hatchback so cunningly designed that it feels compact on the outside and stretched on the inside at the same time. Recently, Ford India also launched a high-end variant christening it as Skoda Fabia Scout.
Mileage and Fuel Economy
The 1.2 litre petrol engine manages to deliver a mileage of 16.4 kmpl which is actually better than most competitors in market. However, the other 1.6 litre petrol engine is a slight let down with only 14.8 kmpl of mileage. But the 1.2 TDI CR, DOHC diesel engine steals the show with an impressive mileage of 20.0 kmpl.
Skoda Fabia offers plenty of color choice all of which are unique and vibrant. The halogen headlights with manual leveling and multi-reflector fog lamps are curved outwards to give Skoda Fabia a wider-looking nose. Rear fog lights and high mounted third brake light add to the sporty impression laid out by this car at the first look. Body colored external mirrors, door handles and bumpers make for a consistent looking body that spread out a no nonsense vibe. On the other hand, the new Skoda Fabia Scout is covered all over by protective body claddings which takes away the sheen but practically protects the body of the car. Projector beams headlamps, silver chin spoiler, silver rear diffuser and cladding on bumpers, doors, sill and wheel arches gives the hatchback an off-roader look. Inside the cabin, one can find extra room and stainless steel pedal set.
Interiors design of Skoda Fabia is a balance between space and comfort.
