Overall Review

HTC Desire V is another sibling in the Desire series by HTC that is serving the best in the dual SIM market. HTC Desire is the first dual SIM smartphone by HTC and following the same trend. HTC Desire V is making its way towards the market to increase the share of HTC smartphones in the market.  In terms of design, HTC Desire V comes with a WVGA screen that gives ease to eyes and the unique and durable body design gives fine grip to hands. The phone supports dual standby mode so you will have active SIMs and will always be in reach of your family and friends and your professional group as well. The device is blessed with rich and authentic music, giving credit to the Beats Audio sound enhancement. The new integrated music experience makes it easy to access all your music libraries, Internet radio and favorite audio applications simultaneously and that too from one convenient location. The device comes packed in a very compact size of 118.5mm x 62.3mm x 9.3mm and holds a weight of 114 grams only. This light weight is due to its plastic body. The plastic is of very good quality and is capable of delivering a premium look to the device. After achieving the success with the One series, HTC has moved towards the manufacturing of dual SIM phones, as they are in fashion now-a-days. With two SIM cards in one phone, the users can avail the facility of best tariff plans along with best network coverage. They can also keep separate number for their professional as well as for their personal life. Since HTC Desire V is an Android smartphone and has HTC Sense UI with it, so the applications as well as the features and functions available with this droid are far more superior and unique when compared to the other contemporaries. The HTC Sense UI makes the phone vibrate when the call is answered, which is a very useful feature where one do not have to hold the phone to the ear in order to know if the call is connected and this quick UI will make the user to personalize the widgets and icons according to their choice and preference. Its users can also have fun with the latest Hollywood blockbusters, best TV shows and great documentaries on the go with HTC Watch. It is easy to sync media, contacts, calendar events, bookmarks and documents between your PC and HTC Desire V with the help of HTC Sync Manager. This UI allows to personalize the phone with a different wallpaper, ringtone, and notification sound for events such as incoming text, e-mail, and calendar reminders. You will have up to seven home screen panes that are extend to the left and right sides of the display as the Home screen, on which one can add elements such as widgets, program icons, and shortcuts to information. This UI is so intelligent that when one does not intend to answer a call, he or she just need to put the phone with its front facing downward, and the phone will automatically decreases the volume of the call so that its user might not get disturbed. This is not enough, this UI even makes your phone to ring loud when a call is not answered and if you picked up the phone in your hands then the ringer starts decreasing its volume. With such a useful interface and the most amazing Android platform the users will have a jaw dropping experience. The device has a thick chrome bezel around the WVGA screen to provide protection to it. There is a full touch sensitive screen in front with earpiece grill and Proximity sensor, Ambient light sensor and G-Sensor on top and three Android button at the bottom for Back, Home and SIM management. The G-Sensor works totally like an accelerometer and locates the orientation of the device, both horizontally and vertically. Proximity sensor emits out an electromagnetic field or electromagnetic radiations that detects the nearby POIs, buildings, towers, cafes, etc. without having actual contact with them. Ambient Light sensor automatically adjusts the brightness of the screen as per the light conditions, so that the screen is always visible even when the sun is over the head. These sensors adds more usage to the device and makes the experience most wonderful. There are seven customizable home screen panes where you can add or delete the widgets and icons according to their usage and need. The users can also download more panes from the Android market as well as from the HTC Hubs. The left side of HTC Desire V holds a long and thin rocker for volume, which is easy to use. The right portion of the device is the house for USB port but this port is not covered by a rotational flip so it very much prone to dust. The top of HTC Desire V has the universal 3.5mm headphone jack that also works as an A/V connector and along with it you will find the charging point of the phone. The bottom has nothing more than a lanyard eyelet and a mouth piece. The back of HTC Desire V has a 5 megapixels auto focus camera with support for LED flash. The camera is properly enveloped by an oval bezel that protects the camera lens when the phone is put down on a rough surface a this bezel is slightly protrudes out. The loudspeaker grill is placed at the bottom with logo for Beats Audio. The logo for HTC is placed in between the camera and loudspeaker grill. Beneath the cover you will find the powerful battery and the slots for two SIM cards along with the slot for memory card. Overall, HTC Desire V is a wonderful piece of gadget that is available at a very affordable price and delivers services that are found in the high end smartphones.

The new thing that HTC Sense UI brings along with platform is the new active lockscreen that, by default, has four shortcuts and a ring at the bottom. This new UI blesses the device by gifting it six different lockscreens, which can be accessed from the personalize menu. The Photo album lockscreen tosses the photos, in a cool 3D style, that are there in the gallery.
