Expert Review of Karbonn Smart A111 Black
Karbonn has been competing in a fierce competition with Micromax and other new entrants in the smartphone market for quite some time now but the latter has held the upper hand in recent times. Karbonn Smart A111 is blessed with all such features that will enable it to withstand the fierce competition. With the launch of Samsung Galaxy Note, released a few years ago, the phablet market has exploded and all the major companies jumping on to the bandwagon. The tier 2 companies that provide budget handsets are also exploiting the same sector. Micromax already has the Canvas series with Micromax Canvas2 as their flagship device and now going head to head with it. Karbonn Smart A111 comes with a massive 5 inch display that can be interacted with through the touchscreen technology. The device also has the dual SIM facility making sure that the user can keep two SIM's in a single device thus eliminating the need to keep two handsets. The device also comes powered by the 1.2GHz dual-core processor and with budgeted devices offering such powerful processor with Android platform, sometimes one does wonder how long would the high profile companies would be able to hold off these underdogs. The RAM offered by Karbonn Smart A111 is 512MB and although it's decent, it is not as good as the processor it offers. Another 512MB would have made the device a killer deal. The internal storage capacity is 4GB, which when found insufficient can be dealt with the presence of a microSD card slot that allows the user to expand the external memory up to 32GB. The device has a 5 megapixels rear camera, which is one feature that may fall short as compared to the phablets offered by other brands. There is also a secondary camera that allows the user to make web calls. Operating system used by the device is Android Ice Cream Sandwich, which is not the latest that the Android has to offer but is still not the most outdated one available. Other features offered by the device include the music player and the video player as far as the multimedia department is concerned. The data connectivity features include the Bluetooth facility, the USB port, GPRS and EDGE facility and the Wi-Fi access for the Internet. The device comes powered by the standard lithium ion battery of 2,150 mAh, which is pretty healthy although as compared to Samsung Galaxy Note 2 seems mediocre.

If doubled, the device would have been difficult to ignore as a whole package.
Applications and Gaming
Karbonn Smart A111 has loads of games and apps that are preinstalled in the device. The user can download more from the web with the Android Ice Cream Sandwich operating system giving access to a whole lot of apps and games. Playing games on a large screen of 5 inches is a real treat although in terms of resolution, there is a lot to be desired for.

Wi-Fi is also made available for accessing web.
Karbonn Smart A111 when compared to Micromax Canvas 2 has a similar screen size with both devices featuring a 5 inch display. Both the devices also have the dual core processor whereas the processing power offered by Karbonn Smart A111 is slightly more than Micromax Canvas2 with the former being backed by the 1.2GHz processor as compared to the latter's 1GHz. Both the devices have the same operating system platform with Android Ice cream sandwich but the batter capabilities of Karbonn Smart A111 is a tad more than Micromax Canvas2 with 2,150 mAh for the former as compared to 2,000 mAh from latter. In terms of camera though, Karbonn Smart A111 is a little behind with 5 megapixels rear camera whereas Micromax Canvas2 has a 8 megapixels shutter.
Karbonn Smart A111 Black Description
The list of phablets and budget phablets keeps on growing with the tier 2 and tier 3 companies releasing bigger devices one after the other at low prices. Karbonn Smart A111 is another creation from the Indian smartphone manufacturing firm that has a colossal 5 inch screen that comes with the dual SIM facility making sure that the user can keep SIM's in a single device thus eliminating the need to keep two devices. There is a very powerful 1.2GHz processor, which means a fast and swift speed. If only the RAM was as good and powerful as the processor is then the effect would have been different but with only 512MB RAM, this segment is a bit of a letdown. There is a 4GB internal memory, which should be enough for the user to accumulate data like music files, games, images and videos. In case the memory is not enough for data storage, the user can expand the external memory up to 32GB with the help of a microSD card slot. The camera department is also pretty decent with a 5 megapixels rear camera that makes sure that clear pictures can be clicked. The camera when compared to the high profile gadgets like Samsung and Sony falls behind severely. The camera comes with the LED flash facility that makes sure that the pictures taken and videos recorded are bright and clear even if the natural light is not satisfactory. A secondary camera is also provided so video calling and web chats are possible. Data connectivity features are plenty with the Bluetooth facility that allows the user to connect with other devices and exchange data with it, which may include music files, games, images and videos. There is also a Wi-Fi facility with which the user can connect with the web and download data including songs, games, images and videos whereas various popular social networking sites can also be accessed like Facebook and Twitter. There is also a USB port, which makes sure that the user can connect with computers and laptops so as to charge the device via USB cable or exchange data with it. Powered by the Android Ice Cream Sandwich operating system, the device looks pretty formidable although Jelly Bean would have been really ideal to match it up with its competitors. Karbonn Smart A111 runs on the standard lithium ion battery of 2,100 mAh, which is lesser than what Huawei Ascend D2 offers but is still good enough to give the user a decent talk time and standby time.
