Karbonn for a while initially, was focusing more on producing budget devices but gradually, have transformed well as a smartphone manufacturing firm with a series of Android running gadgets. As always, Karbonn never fails to induce the dual SIM mode with its mobile phones and Karbonn Titanium S1 is no different, for the smartphone can accommodate two GSM numbers that can used at the same time. Now what makes it powerful lies with its hardware and software prowess and Karbonn Titanium S1, certainly does not disappoint with a formidable combination of 1GB RAM and quad core processor looking after the hardware as Android Jelly Bean operating system takes the lead on the software front. The software specification would also complement the internet segment of the smartphone with GPRS, WAP browser maintaining connections within the device as Wi-Fi allows accessing outside connections. Wi-Fi hot spot is another data connection feature added to the already existing USB port, Bluetooth and EDGE.
A solid internal memory of 4GB is a good way to start when it comes to storing a healthy amount of data like songs, games, images, and videos. For more space, there is always the microSD card slot of 32GB external memory capacity. Now 5-megapixel cannot be termed as a weak camera but considering the standards that Karbonn's high profile smartphones have maintained in the recent times, it is certainly an underperforming primary shutter. There are some positives though, like an LED flash and an auto focus facility. Video recordings can be shot as well while a 0.3-megapixel secondary camera is also allocated. Most high end gadgets are released in colors of Black and White and same is the case with Karbonn Titanium S1. It runs on the standard lithium-ion battery of 1600mAh that yields a talk time of up to 4 hours and a standby time of up to 200 hours. Then there is the music player, video player, and FM radio for allowing the user to listen to songs and watching videos in multiple formats.
User Interface and UI functionality
Karbonn Titanium S1 has a 4.5-inch IPS LCD capacitive touch screen that gives 16 million colors along with a resolution of 540 by 960pixels. The pixel density offered is of 245ppi that comes across as pretty crisp in its images. Various sensors including accelerometer and proximity sensors back the multitouch display.
Karbonn Titanium S1 relies on the music player for providing access to loads of personally chosen songs that can be heard through the loudspeakers or through the earphones that can be attached to the device using a 3.5mm jack. Video player runs videos in various formats including MP4, WMV, H.264, and H.263 player while the music player is supported by the formats MP3, AAC, WMA, and WAV player. Another way of listening to the popular music is through the FM radio.

Karbonn Titanium S1 comes with a 5-megapixel camera wherein, the shutter produces images at a resolution of 2592 by 1944pixels and uses facilities like Geo-tagging, LED flash and auto focus for quality enhancement and convenience. Videos can be recorded through the primary camera whereas, the secondary camera can be used for web calls, or video chats.
Karbonn Titanium S1 comes with WAP browser and GPRS for accessing the web at a reasonable speed. Downloading data like songs, games, images, and videos are easy while websites like Facebook and Twitter along with YouTube can also be accessed.
Internal and External Memory
Karbonn Titanium S1 has a 4GB memory space that comes built-in with the smartphone, which is a decent bargain although not all the storage capacity would be available for use. But when this memory space does runs out, the user can boost the external memory by stretching it up to 32GB using the microSD card slot. RAM offered is an excellent 1GB, making it easier to access the resources of the system at a fast pace.
Applications and Gaming
Karbonn Titanium S1 is driven by the Android Jelly Bean operating system, which is a great tool for accessing a massive pool of resources when it comes to games and applications. Applications like WhatsApp and WeChat have always been popular and in the gaming department, there are popular games like Temple Run and Angry Birds.
Karbonn Titanium S1 offers a 1600mAh standard lithium-ion battery, which leaves a lot to be desired for not only in terms of battery strength but also with regard to the actual talk time and standby time offered. Talk time offered is a meagre 4 hours while standby time is up to 200 hours.
Karbonn Titanium S1 provides Wi-Fi hot spot as its most prolific data connectivity feature while others include Wi-Fi, USB port, Bluetooth, GPRS, and EDGE.
Karbonn Titanium S1 when compared with Micromax Canvas A116 has a smaller screen with 4.5 inches for the former and 5 inches for the latter. Resolution is better with Micromax Canvas A116 and so is the pixel density giving it a much richer look. Karbonn Titanium S1 has a 5-megapixel camera while Micromax Canvas A116 has an 8-megapixel camera. The latter has a dual flash facility while the former has a single flash. Karbonn Titanium S1 has a VGA front camera as compared to the 2-megapixel front camera for Micromax Canvas A116. Both the devices have the Android Jelly Bean operating systems and quad core processors but Micromax Canvas A116 runs on the 2000mAh standard lithium-ion battery, much higher than the Karbonn Titanium S1's 1600mAh standard lithium-ion battery.
