Expert Review of Lenovo A800
Lenovo is one of the many firms which have to change their core competence or are rather in the process of changing their core competence. The PC industry is declining and the smartphone market is on the rise, in fact is in the middle of a peak. Therefore it would unwise for any electronic gadget making company to run away from the same and Lenovo is certainly one company that is flexible and ready to change with times. Apple was also a computer making firm which have to change into now a primarily smartphone making firm. The transitional period is on for Lenovo as well and Lenovo A800 Smart Phone is a proof to this. It is an Android running smartphone that has a 4.5-inch IPS LCD capacitive display that runs on a pixel density of 218ppi. The smartphone has a length of 133.5mm, a breadth of 68.9mm and a height of 11.5mm as it weighs a healthy 155 grams. The gadget is fast as far as responsiveness is concerned. There is also the dual-SIM facility which means that the user can fit in two GSM SIM cards in a single device thus use two numbers for staying connected with friends and family. The 512MB RAM is a little short of what we would have considered as formidable as all the other brands have at least 1GB RAM for their flagship devices. A 4GB internal memory is always nice to have under your belt even though a portion of it would not be available to the user for personal use. So if there is a case where the internal memory turns out short, a microSD card slot can be brought into play so as to enhance the capacity up to 32GB. Hence loads of data can be stored like movies, games, images and videos.
Lenovo has not gone all out with the camera capabilities as the device gets a 5 megapixel primary shutter at the back portion of the smartphone. Further there is no secondary camera either so this is not a fancy camera gadget. There is auto focus for assist apart from geo-tagging and touch focus. Videos can be shot at 720 pixels. Lenovo A800 Smart Phone runs on the Android Ice Cream Sandwich operating which is another feature that might not go their way as Android Jelly Bean is almost about to be taken over by Lemon Pie. Processor is dual core which clocks at a speed of 1.2GHz. Data connectivity features are healthy with Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi hot spot, bluetooth, USB port and GPRS, EDGE. So basically, one gets all the basic features in the data connectivity department. Battery strength is 2,000mAh which that can carve out a decent amount of usage duration for the user. Lenovo A800 Smart Phone is available in the color of black and white and is basically a mid carter device as suppose to what one may call a flagship model.
User Interface and UI functionality
Lenovo A800 Smart Phone comes with a 4.5-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with 16 million colors to show for it along with a resolution of 480 by 854 pixels. Pixel density is respectable too with 218ppi. Responsiveness is fast and smooth with minor hiccups here and there.
Lenovo A800 Smart Phone offers a music player that is suited to the formats of MP3, WAV, WMA and eAAC+ player while the video player operates with MP4, WMV, H.264 and H.263 player. The music can be enjoyed through the loudspeakers or through the earphones that can be connected to the device with the help of a 3.5mm jack. No secondary camera for the purpose of video calling is provided.

GPRS and the built-in HTML browser are instrumental in providing the same. Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi hot spot can be used to connect with other servers wirelessly.
Internal and External Memory
Lenovo A800 Smart Phone has 4GB space that is comes built-in with the device with the device. Not all of is available for the user's use but a majority of it is. But even if the user finds it short, a microSD card slot can be used to expand the external memory up to 32GB which should more than adequate for normal users.
Applications and Gaming
Lenovo A800 Smart Phone is not a bad device to play games on but there is limit to the kind of games this smartphone can handle. Since the RAM is 512MB and processor is not quad-core but dual-core, there are certain heavy configuration games which would not run smoothly with the device. Still, with the support of the Android Ice Cream Sandwich operating system, the user can download plenty of games.
Lenovo A800 Smart Phone is boosted by the standard lithium-ion battery of 2,000mAh which does provide a pretty length talk time and a decent standby time. Internet would suck the battery harder than other apps.
