Lenovo has added a new smartphone named Lenovo P780 in its inventory that features a nice 5.0 inches IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with a pixel density of 294ppi. This dual-SIM phone that runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean platform is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core processor. The phone features two cameras, 1GB of RAM, 4GB/8GB variants of internal memory and 32GB of external expandable memory. A massive 4000mAh lithium-polymer battery supplies enough power to this phone to run it for longer hours.
User Interface and UI functionality
Lenovo P780 flaunts a capacious 5.0 inches multitouch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with a display resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. The screen has a pixel density of 294ppi and a color depth resolution of 16M. This dual-SIM phone runs on an Android platform, version being 4.2 Jelly Bean. A 1.2GHz MTK6589 quad-core processer powers this phone and the presence of PowerVR SGX544 GPU is responsible for offering excellent graphics to the users.
Lenovo P780 sports an 8 megapixels primary rear camera, which is equipped with autofocus and LED flash features. In addition to that, the phone also features a 0.3 megapixels fixed focus secondary camera. The phone also carries a loud speaker, 3.5mm mic/headphone combo, audio and video player. The primary camera is equipped with LED flash. The phone possesses a FM Radio for users who like to have some sort of entertainment on the go. Lenovo P780 also supports video recording.

Lenovo P780 offers 2G, 3G, Wi-Fi, A-GPS, GPRS, and EDGE support. In addition, it supports HTML browser and Java via Java MIDP emulator. The browser however, does not support flash.

Lenovo P780 has 1GB of RAM and comes in two variants of internal memory namely, 4GB and 8GB and possesses an external memory of 32GB through the microSD card slot route.

Powered by Android 4.2 Jelly Bean OS, Lenovo P780 comes with preloaded applications such as Google Play Store, Gmail, Google Talk, Google Maps, Picasa, YouTube, Facebook and Twitter. The Google Play Store offers access to multiple paid and free apps. Also, games such as Temple Run 3, Contra, Subway Surfer etc., can be played on this device.
Lenovo P780 offers a talk time of 43 hours on 2G and up to 25 hours on 3G with the help of a Lithium-Polymer 4000mAh battery. The battery offers a standby time of 840 hours.
Lenovo P780 offers 2G, 3G, Wi-Fi, A-GPS, GPRS and EDGE connectivity. Also, Bluetooth v3.0 ensures faster transfer of files between compatible devices. The phone, neither supports NFC nor infrared. The micro USB port supports file transfer and charging.
Placing Lenovo P780 and Samsung Galaxy Grand under the scanner, one may find a lot of differences. While some features may favor your decision of buying the Samsung mobile, some make the users lean towards buying the Lenovo device. When compared to Samsung, Lenovo P780 weighs a little heavy at 176 grams. The P780 has a thickness of 9.95mm when compared to Galaxy Grand’s 9.60mm thickness.
