Expert Review of Micromax X207 Black
A decade ago it was impossible to get a mobile phone that would feature a camera, a music player and a FM radio in a single device below anything less than Rs.5000. But things have changed dramatically in the recent times and the increasing number of mobile manufacturing companies is one of the major reasons that can be attributed to that. Also for a developing economy like India, the more you get for lesser price is the kind of philosophy that will be a hit more often. It is almost like the above mentioned features that are the mundane additions to a mobile they always expect. Micromax X207 is one of the most low end devices that are available in the market with a tiny 1.77-inch display. The resolution of the screen is a trivial 128 x 160 pixels. Micromax X207 is as long as 113.2mm, along with a breadth of 47.5mm and a height of 14.5mm. Only 500 entries regarding the phonebook can be stored but for a larger collection of data like songs, games, images and videos, there is a microSD card. The memory of which can go up to as much as 8GB which is more than adequate. The presence of the camera is nice but VGA is as low as you can get for a camera as far as strength is concerned. Bluetooth and USB port are a few connectivity features in addition to the GPRS. The user can access the web through the GPRS with the WAP 2.0 browser making sure that the needed websites can be surfed. The strength of connections achieved through the Micromax X207 would not be that great. But internet is not the only way to stay entertained. There is music player making sure that the users can listen to songs whereas the video player is a great tool for watching videos but again with the minute 1.77-inch screen, it would not be of much fun. An FM radio is always a nice way for the users to stay in touch with the latest songs that the entertainment world has to offer depending upon the radio stations available in the concerned cities. With the dual standby facilities, there is also the dual-SIM facility which means one can go out of his or her city and get different number while keeping his or her old number intact. Thus both numbers remain active at the same time and are available for making or receiving calls. With a E-book reader, the user can read various online books.
User Interface and UI functionality
Micromax X207 is provided with 1.77-inch screen and a paltry resolution of 128 x 160 pixels. The alphanumeric keypad is the only way to interact with the screen but apart from that there is not much to say about the display with modest features.
MP3 and MIDI formats are the only ones that the music player provides with Micromax X207. The user can keep a collection of songs according to his or her personal needs while the video player also does the same thing for watching videos. The latter is supported by the formats Mp4, 3GP and AVI. An FM radio can record songs on the radio stations apart from providing the means to listen to the popular radio stations.
Pictures and Video quality
Micromax X207 offers a camera which is stunted by the low VGA strength. Thus the pictures produced are not the best around but there is not much to expect either at a resolution of 640 x 480 pixels. Just like all the other VGA camera's, this one too has the camera zoom as its only assisting feature. Video recording is available too.
Micromax X207 applies the WAP browser 2.0 along with the GPRS for bringing in to play the popular websites like Facebook and Twitter. Since this is not the most powerful web set up available, downloading of data is difficult, or better yet near impossible.
Internal and External Memory
Micromax X207 offers a microSD card slot for strengthening the external memory of the device up to 8GB which would add some serious spine to otherwise deprived internal memory. Based on simply the internal memory of the gadget, Micromax X207 can keep up to 500 contact information.
Applications and Gaming
Micromax X207 is meek on games and apps with just a handful of the former and almost nothing of the latter. The user can keep himself or herself amused for a while but there nothing much to bank on here.
Micromax X207 exploits a decent 1,000mAh standard lithium-ion battery in exchange for some substantial amount of talktime and a better standby time. The user also gets to enjoy a longer music play time but video watching is rather more power consuming.
GPRS is a great source for routing through the desired destination along with accessing the web. The Bluetooth features let the users exchange songs, games, images and videos. The USB port is also an important element for connecting the Micromax X207 with computers or laptops.
Micromax X207 when compared to Intex spark has a smaller screen with the former providing a 1.77-inch display and the latter 2.4 inches. Screen resolution is also significantly more with Intex Spar. The camera is also better with Intex Spark with 1.3 megapixels whereas the Micromax X207 has a VGA camera. Both the devices have a microSD card slot with a 8GB memory capability. Both the gadgets also support the dual-SIM facility but the battery strength is stronger with Intex Spark with 1,800mAh thus providing a longer talktime and standby time.
Micromax X207 Black Description
The Indian Smartphone manufacturing company, Micromax, has been in the market for quite some time now and has been using the strategy of producing low priced Smartphones with high number of features. The company is slowly but surely making their presence felt in the country. But it has to be said that even though the Micromax X207 is a low end device, it is not the company's best creation yet. The device has a 1.77 inch screen that gives a resolution of 128 by 160 pixels which is really meagre. As far as the dimensions of the device is concerned, it has a length of 113.2mm, a breadth of 47.5mm and a height of 14.5mm. The in-built memory allows the user to store up to 500 contacts but the microSD card slot makes sure that the user can expand the external memory up to 8GB. This means that the user can keep a large collection of data including music files, games, images and videos without worrying about the memory space running out. The camera is of VGA quality and produces mediocre results in general but when you consider the price of the device, the camera is not too bad. The user can click pictures at a resolution of 640 by 480 pixels. There is also a camera zoom facility that allows the user to click pictures with ease from a substantial distance. Talking about the multimedia features, the device has a music player that gives the user access to all the popular musical tracks that can be heard through the loudspeakers or through the earphones that can be attached to the device with the help of a 3.5mm jack. The video player allows the user to watch and enjoy videos on the formats of MP4, 3GP and AVI. The music player on the other hand is compatible with the formats - MP3 and MIDI. There is also an FM radio that not only allows the user to listen to their favourite radio stations but also lets them record their desired songs. Web can be accessed through the GPRS and WAP 2.0 browser though Wi-Fi is not available. The user can still visit the desired web sites and download data but the speed is not excellent to say the least. The device has the dual SIM facility that makes sure that the user can keep two SIM's in a single device without having the need to keep changing devices.
