Great camera - light weight body
by Manoj Palaniswamy on 2014-05-02
Ordered this product and got it delivered within 3 days. Excellent service and great packaging as usual. Few people complain about the quality, but this is an entry level DSLR and you its quite good for its price. The camera is light in weight and does not look plastiky and is quite good. This is the best price you can get for a DSLR (with 2 lens) and Nikon does not come close. The site says its 18-55, 55-250 IS, but its actually IS II. Also both the lens has auto focus. Registered the product online and the warranty is 2 yrs and 2 months (26 months). You need to register for activating the 2nd year warranty.
Canon EOS1100D/Rebel T3, One heck of a Deal..!!
by ravi shankar on 2014-05-06
Upgrading from a Canon 1000D, I find myself more than happy with the Product. The Decision wasn't easy, since there were multiple negative remarks on the Build quality and omission of couple of features as compared to the older models. Also, The Resolution upgrade from 10MP to 12MP didn't seem much of difference on Paper.
However, there is a Visible difference in the outcome of the quality of images as a whole. This is mainly due to the DIGIC4 upgraded sensor on the 1100D. It really does make a visible difference.
About the build quality, I've read and heard numerous reviewers complaining about the cheap plasticky finish on the camera body, and it being very slippery. I on the otherhand feel, the design is more than adequate. Although, a rubber grip near the shutter button end of the camera would improve its look and feel drastically, I ain't complaining. The camera is noticably lighter when you hold it up.
The package comes with two lenses, 18-55mm and 55-250mm EFS IS II, which according to me is way more than one can ask for. For the price I paid, I got more than expected.
The 8GB Class10 Lexor Card, works seemlessly with absolutely no delay at all. The actual difference is noticeble in Burst mode while shooting RAW images. A slower card wouldn't be able to take more than 3 Pics at a go. But this card shoots 5 pics as in the specification.
The only downside was the camera bag. Although, the material of the bag is top notch and it provides ample protection to its contents, The bag in itself is too small. As in, it couldn't accommadate the charger itself, while housing the Camera body and the 250mm Lens. Yes, you can only fit one lens at a time. Its that small. The thing that bugs me is, a better and bigger bag is available online for half the rate printed on the bag.
Compared to its newest rival, the 1200D this is a better choice for those who are just entering the world of DSLRs. A perfect entry level Camera to learn the tricks of the trade. If you are willing to spend about 7K more for 6MP of resolution, then go for the 1200D. Yes, That is all that seperates the two devices. Or atleast that is all that will matter to you as a beginner.
All in all, this deal is a steal. Do not miss out on this..!!
"THE" camera for a first time SLR user.
by Jayapradeep on 2014-08-22
This "THE" camera to go for if you are a first time SLR user. The twin lens kit gives you everything that you would need in your beginning stages. The camera has a way of making you clicks look great that you would never get with a point and shoot .. The Registration for 2 year Canon Warranty is a breeze ..
I would a have loved a better Camera Bag to be provided with it. The current one is too clumsy and badly designed.
Buy a Additional 16 GB SD card and a Tripod of Amazon and you are all set for a great photography session.
With all that , the overall package is still a s steal ..

Canon EOS 1100D is the choice of DSLR camera for the beginners, The controls are user friendly and easy to handle. It is a great deal from both Canon as well as amazon.in. I used this cam for a marriage function. The photos were clear and sharp (manual mode) maintaining correct light & color combination without noise even at ISO set in 1600 for dim light photography but slight noise in 3200.The 9 point focus helps. No doubt you can enjoy much more than for what you've spent. It will be better to attend the workshop program of canon to know your cam especially the beginners...

Before purchasing this DSLR, i was thinking that DSLR camera is difficult to operate and only professionals can take nice shots by camera, but after using Canon DSLR, I can definitely say that anyone having only some basic knowledge about photography can take nice shots.

Great entry level DSLR for begginners.

I have purchased this camera after a lot of research and recommendation from a very renowned wild life photographer of India.
Its been a month and trust me the camera is doing a great job of clicking some really amazing pictures. One of the biggest reason for me to buy this camera was the extra lens(EF-S 55-250 mm IS II) as part of the deal. I feel if somebody wants to learn photography then this is the best deal. As photography experts say invest 70% in lens and 30% in body to click great pictures.
As far as comparison with Nikon 3100 is concerned, both are great cameras and match up feature wise almost. Talking of Nikon lenses being cheaper, I would say its not a norm. Some Canon lenses are cheaper too! Of course one thing to keep in mind is when you buy a particular brand of camera you get into that particular ecosystem. Ultimately it comes out as a matter of personal choice and preference.
So, if you want to upgrade from the 'bland' world of point and shoot to 'exciting' world of DSLR photography then this is the camera for you and you have the bonus of extra lens!!
