by Shanukumar JHA on 2015-08-02

read what happened .
morning at 11 am i checked the price to be 15499 rs.
at night after 1 pm it was 21000
man this is not great, i really wanted to buy it as it was the perfect piece i wanted and was also in my budget.
Now i have to buy something else
also the ram is reduced to 1gb from 2gb.
the price of the model with 2gb of ram is now 22300.rs
That is totally uncool.

Good product but very poor inbuild product Quality
by Sarvpriya on 2015-08-11
The laptop is bit heavier compared to it's counterparts . 2 days of usage and product suddenly stopped charging . Touch is good and keyboard it good for typing . The only problem is product inbuilt quality . It is made like that it won't survive for more than 1 year . Most reviews i saw on internet is like most of this acer shit has stopped working due to multiple reasons . I got this product for 15499 from flipkart but now i regret my decision to buy it .

ENTRY LEVEL TOUCHSCREEN LAPTOP
by Flipkart Customer on 2016-09-30
It has been a week since i bought the laptop. Till now the laptop work fine and there are more cons than than pros.
- nice touch interface.
- tablet cum laptop.
- preinstalled OS so no worries.
- slow processing speed to handle 500hd
- slow charging speed
- i bought from other e-commerce site ,it had some lines appearing on the screen but i got it refunded and works fine
- acer should introduce some modifications to these new era netbook as they are lacking performace vs price.

Good Convertible Laptop/Tablet. But, read this before you buy.
by GyanGuru on 2015-02-05
First, let me tell you I don't own the Acer S1001 but I have used it for a few hours and I own Asus Transformer T100/iPad and owned the Cain, so I hope I am able to give you some perspectives before you buy. But, remember it's not a long term perspective.
First, this is a beautiful device and probably one of the few apart from the Lenovo Yoga series, which can be used in multiple modes like Notebook, Pad, Display and Tent. However, unlike the Yoga series, the Acer can be detached from the keyboard making it a true tablet. I am just putting down the Good and Bad about this and then a comparison with each device below.
+ Build quality. The Acer has very good Build quality. The keyboard finish is really good.
+ Service network. Acer has good service network compared to Cain.
+ IPS display. The display is HD and a 16:10
+ Intel Atom Quad Core. This processor is more than sufficient for most work unless you do heavy photoshop or gaming.
+ Micro HDMI on tablet. This means you can use it to connect to a TV or monitor at work easily.
- Windows upgrades. With Windows 10 right around, there is no information if the Acer will provide an upgrade (UPDATE: Windows 10 is available for this tablet FREE. So, this no longer an issue).
- Bad Webcam. The webcam is 0.3 MP, which is really let down. I would rather liked they removed the back camera and had a better camera in the front.
- RAM is not upgradable. But, that's the case with pretty much all tablets. For the same reason, if you are buying this I would recommend picking up the 2GB model. On my Acer T100 with 2GB RAM I usually have 1.5GB free, which gets used pretty fast if I am multi-tasking
Compared to an iPad
I think it's quite unfair to compare this device or any other Windows tablet with an iPad simply because they are not equipped with the same features. A Windows tablet is a full featured device, which can multi-task, run Windows apps. Whereas iPad's are purely tablets. If you are considering this as alternative to an iPad don't, they do different things; even if you consider just using it for web browsing, the iPad experience there is superior.
Good about Acer compared to iPad
+ Full Windows functionality. However, there is no information about Windows 10 upgrade; whether it be free or paid.
+ Built in Keyboard. iPad cases with keyboard are alternatives but not the same experience
Bad about Acer compared to iPad
- No idea about updates. iPad's receive free OS updates. Windows is not the same at least till now.
- Not the same experience. The iPad gives different experience in UI and usage.
- Heavier. The iPad is lighter to use as an tablet.
- Lower resolution. The iPad has retina display compared to HD resolution on Acer.
Compared to the Notion Ink Cain
Okay, on the first glance the Acer and Notion Ink are similar priced. But, the devices are really different; the Cain comes with a foldable stand and keyboard, where as the Acer has a detachable keyboard. The screen quality is different as well. Here's the comparison compared to Notion Ink.
Good about Acer compared to Cain
+ Magnetic detachable keyboard. The keyboard is easy to use and has enough key travel. I haven't felt that comfortable with the Cain keyboard. The keyboard is also solidly built.
+ Usable as a laptop. Due to the design of the Cain you cannot use it as a laptop. The folding stand just drops, the Acer has no such problem
+ Service Network. Cain has a questionable service network (if there is one). When I was buying, pretty much all questions sent to the Cain support went un-answered. Acer has a better service network, so you shouldn't have such problems
+ Hard disk. The Cain does not have any Hard disk, Acer does.
+ Replacement Parts. Cain is a small company and therefore it will be difficult to get replacement parts, especially if you drop the tablet etc. Acer with it's service network should be able to quickly fix it.
Bad about Acer compared to Cain
- Cain has USB 3. Acer has USB 2.0. USB 2.0 is a bad idea, if you want faster data transfer or simply want to attach USB displays.
- Smaller Battery. In comparison with Cain the Acer has smaller battery. However, that does not simply mean better battery life. I have not used either for too long to tell you either wise.
- No freebies. Cain comes with free mouse. However, that should never be the criteria for buying a tablet/notebook.
- 3G support. Cain has an ultrastick option for 3G support, which costs an additional Rs.3000. However, you can use a dongle with the Acer.
Compared to Asus Transformer T100
The Asus T100 has been one of the first ones to bring this idea of a convertible successfully and unfortunately still has better configuration compared to the Acer. The new Asus T100 Chi has pretty much all the same features as the Acer and more.
Good about Acer compared to T100
+ Magnetic keyboard. The Asus has a detachable keyboard but it's not magnetic.
+ More modes of usage. The Asus can be used only as a laptop or a tablet. You cannot use it in the Tent or Display modes
+ Rear camera. The Asus does not have a rear camera. The newly replacement for T100 however does have one.
Bad about Acer compared to T100
- USB port. The Asus has USB 3.0. This is a big plus. Acer only has a USB 2.0
- Webcam. The front camera on the Asus is a 1M compared to 0.3 on Acer
- Tried and tested. The Asus T100 has been in the market for a while so all problems about it are known, the Acer is pretty new.
Do I recommend this tablet? Yes, at the price it is a very good deal. If I didn't want USB 3.0 I would definitely buy one. However, at the moment I am keeping the Asus Transformer T100. If you don't want this in a hurry, I would also recommend waiting for the Asus T100 Chi to see what price it launches at. There are also other companies launching similar options.
I hope this review gives you enough information to make a decision and if it does help please click Yes below, it encourages me to write more reviews.

Do not buy it at all.
Purchased it in Feb 2015, hardly used it for since last 5 months.
Had intermittent charging problems, but carried on.
Suddenly since last 3 days, has died - cannot be charged at all, despite trying all possilbe options.
Internet reaserach revealed this problem to be inherent for theses modesl, for which ACER has not cared to resolve and continued selling without care.
Is a cold turkey now.
ACER support unreachable.
WIll make them pay by approaching consumr court for selling such faulty product.
Bad experience with ACER
by Amazon Customer on 2016-10-03
Before buying the product i usually go through the product reviews and it really helped a lot .
I bought the laptop and from day one the laptop was slugish in performance even the touchscreen was not so responsive . The charging also took a lot time .
So before anything bad would go wrong and before the return policy ends ,i returned it and at the end of the day i saved myself
:-) thnks to all the reviewers
Complete Failure: Acer One S1001 10-inch 2-in-1 Touchscreen Laptop
by Varun Agarwal on 2015-03-11
The product is a complete failure. The quality is very poor. 1 week after receiving the laptop, it went completely dead. Service center informed me that the Mother Board has malfunctioned.
Its been 7 days since I have handed over the laptop to the service center, but they do not have any clue by when a new mother board will be issued.
Based on my experience, I would suggest stay away from buying "Acer One S1001 10-inch 2-in-1 Touchscreen Laptop". Its a complete fail.

In the span of four months of usage i got problem with motherboard, charger & battery, very effective service provided by Acer but the company failed to provide me good manufacturing product and there is no resale value though you have warranty period. I failed choosing Acer as my choice its waste of money & time.(According to my experience with Acer)
Really Very bad product! Took it for a presentation
by DrPM on 2016-07-03
Really Very bad product! Took it for a presentation. Though new it stopped booting. Got it replaced as service people found it bad. I thought new one will work! It was working. Then stopped booting. Worthy as much as a paperweight.
by RAJESH on 2015-05-05
Just after a month or so it is not even powering on. Acer did not even bother to put a Power indicator on the unit.
