Received the product earlier in the day. Ordered on 3rd May and got it on 4th. I must say, the delivery was real quick by WS Retail and Flipkart. Kudos to both for that.
Now, the Laptop was packed really neatly with cardboard covers by both Flipkart and ASUS. The lack of a Laptop bag is disappointing though. Unboxing the laptop, I was like WOW! Black beauty indeed, great to hold and really light as feather. You get the driver disc and charger along with User Guide for the Laptop.
Now, coming to the tricky parts you'll need to charge the laptop before use. It comes with FreeDOS which sucks and the BIOS is configured to load Windows 8. I had to fiddle around for a while before I figured how to boot with a removable USB drive. You need to change the booting device, rather than having the option to manually boot from USB. Not really a great choice from ASUS.
Now, if you want to install Windows 8, go for the 32 Bit version. The laptop is meant for the 64 bit version, hence the driver disk supports the 64 bit softwares only. I installed the 32 bit version for performance reasons. Having a 64 bit version will create unnecessary architecture problems with the RAM. The impressive part is, the laptop took less than 10 minutes to install Windows 8.1 Pro and easily copied the whole 8GB of Windows files. Be sure to use a Genuine, Activated Version. I have a Genuine copy and I activated the Windows using my product key.
Here are the programs I've installed so far and the Laptop runs greatly. What more could you expect from a Quad Core processor clocked at 2.4Ghz?
-Microsoft Office 2007 Enterprise
-Opera Web Browser
-VLC Media Player
Be sure to partion your HDD from Administrative Tools. I partitioned mine in 200GB, 120GB & 120GB respectively. I use C drive for storing downloads and stuff, so I gave it more space. The harddisk runs really good and doesn't cause any noise unlike most other laptops. No heating issues so far. The cooler on the left does a really good job.
The display is great for an 11.6 inch screen and the viewing angles are great for eyes. Windows 8 Metrostyle is easy enough for eyes. The keyboard is really decent and the keys are smooth for quick typing. Little noise, but you get used to it. The trackpad is quite different from the HP Laptops I've used as this one is bit less sensitive to touch and the buttons are hard. You'll get used to it though.
The ports, well you get a HDMI Port, 1xUSB 3.0 and 2xUSB 2.0 which is really great. The ethernet port is rather odd shaped and I wasn't able to use my BSNL Model with it. You also have a Memory Card reader which is an advantage for people like me who regularly use cameras.
Overall I've say is, I'm really satisfied with the product. It's a real steal for the price. I mean, what more do you expect from a Laptop at this price? Couldn't be better. So, if you're looking for a budget laptop with great performance and basic needs like Internet Browsing, Document Editing, Music and Video Playback, go for this.
I'll update the review with my experience of the Laptop. Hope you find this helpful.

Asus --- Chinese product. Nice compact, strong plastic build. Small in size, very light weight 1.5 kg. It's very portable... I carry it around with ease.
Screen size is 11.6 inches, okay for my purpose. Product comes with No windows installed, just DOS. Ships with DRIVER CD, that's a good thing. Most of the drivers are streamlined for Windows 7 -64bit, but just a few are Win 8.1 compatible. Not much problem, if you care to download a few mb-s of drivers from the Asus website.
Let me give you some solid advice.
When I tried to load Win 7 64, I saw the blue screen of death a few times. Then I entered BIOS and changed the Operating system from win8.1 to windows 7. Then everything ran smoothly. I divided my 500GB HDD into 3 primary partitions, 60GB for O/s, another 340 for storage & 100 for Linux( may be Bodhi linux2 + Nikhila Appl.) for later.
The windows system runs MS-Office programs, like Access, Excel, Word. Other software run okay too, which are not too heavy-duty. Nero-9 took a while to install. The processor is intel N2830 dual core with base frequency of 2.16, which boosts to 2.41 GHZ... pretty impressive. And no excess heating issue, as the processor only consumes 7.5 watts. Battery life... mine lasted 3 hours of loading software, with "Balanced Power management". The laptop can Hibernate properly. Only con is 2 GB of DDR3 ram. But look @ the low price tag of 16,000! I got it for 15990 and opted for delivery within a day with extra 90/=.
Flipkart and WS-Retail (seller) they are very dependable and I like their service.
Pt2 review on 10/5/2015: The display is poor. While running DVD movies, I see bespeckles & the mov skips a few frames from time to time. I think it's the 1MB VGA cache!
