True Lenovo Yoga 2 13 Review after long-term usage.
by D Sai Kiran Reddy on 2015-03-31
I had been a fan of touchscreen and hybrid windows laptops. That is why I waited for this laptop for 6 months for its launch in India. I thought it is a good value for the money. It is offering good specs like Core I5, 4GB RAM and 500 GB Hybrid Drive. It has been a good experience for the first 2 months. Then, I started to find many problems. Firstly, the build quality of this device is not good. After seeing the images, advertisements and reviews, I thought that this laptop would have a good build quality. But, after just 2 months of usage, the poor paint job seems to turn brown especially beside the touch-pad where you are likely to rest your hands. The paint is so low quality that a small scratch of your nail would leave a big mark.
Secondly, it heats a lot. The core I5 has thermal throttling which means it should decrease its perfomence when heating to coold down the Laptop. The laptop quickliy gets overheated and the fan makes a lot of noice for even basic tasks such as web browsing and watching videos. It makes it difficult to place the laptop on your lap for even a short period of time. Due to the fan it is likely to decrease the battery life of the laptop.
Most importantly, yoga is meant for using the laptop in different modes. After just 3 months of usage I started to notice few problems. Sometimes the touchpad doesnot work, sometimes the keyboard does not work, and most importantly the touch screen does not work. At first, I thought it is some drivers problem, but it is the hardware problem. If you are likely to use this laptop in different modes such as tablet and tent, the frequent movement of this hinge is likely to damage some hardware parts and cause problems such as touch screen, keyboard and touch-pad. Now, its been at-least three months. My touch screen doesn't work. I was very busy doing my assignments all these days and couldn't give the laptop to service.
If you buy this laptop, for sure you will face the problems and its worst build quality-- I did not expect this from a company like Lenovo. Anyways, i recommend people to not buy this laptop and wait for other laptops such as yoga 3 (not yoga 2) and check the laptop in a lenovo showroom.
Hope my review helps to make a right decision.
Fast, Light and great functionality
by MANU MANSHER MALIK on 2014-10-28
Usage: I got this notebook because of its size and weight. It's quite light. Serves me well on my daily commute. Not a high performer for gaming, but it serves my purpose of work and video watching.
Pros: The 360 degree is swivel is actually quite useful and lets you use the laptop in all sorts of different ways. The screen is quite good, though some low res text and graphics appear pixelated. Touch functionality is great to have as an option.
Cons: Batter doesn't last that long.Only about 5 hours or so. Lenovo packs in a lot of bloatware that should be disabled on the first day.
Conclusion: All in all its a good purchase for someone looking to buy a portable notebook for everyday use.

by Prakash Jamdade on 2014-12-10
Wait for Orange color.. Orange color laptop looks more awesome and attractive.
(U can search Images of "Orange color Yoga Laptop"on Internet )
Hardware quality of this laptop is superb.
touch screen works perfectly
Best laptop to use at 55k
Very good battery backup near to 8hr.
Choose 500GB harddisk with SSD. Its help u store more Data, Video, photos, music.
Or If u have extra money Buy "Yoga 3pro laptop " soon launching in INDIA
Wait for "Lenovo Yoga 3 Pro laptop "- Next Gen Design and hardware specification.!!
its a torture since 6months
by Ramesh B on 2015-07-09
I generally will not give review online, its necessary to give for this since i am facing issues.
I am using this notebook since 6months, i never felt the performance is good. it looks good as configuration wise, but performance is very poor. mouse pad and clicks are soo pathetic, i never felt i am operating the advanced laptop.
internet browsing is torture, browsers performance is dedly slow from day one.
i feel its a punishment given by lenovo while browsing.
Conclusion: in my opinion and experience, its not at all worth for money, we have to buy this laptop if you want have good looking and keep it aside without using. if we are regular users please don't take punishment by getting this bugger.
excellent laptop bad flipkart support
by rijul kalra on 2014-10-09
the laptop is really good with responsive screen and vibrant colors . i love the 1080p resolution . he best part of this laptop is the keyboard its with the right amount of travel in it , u really have fun typing on it . but i have a complaint against flipkart i saw the product for approx 53k a day before the big billion day and talked to the customer care and he advised me to wait for a few hours and buy it on that the big billion day . i bought it for 55k thats nearly 2k higher than the price its was showing at the end of the sale . thats really cheating flipkart it was supposed to be a sale not a increase in price .

Lenovo making fool out of indian consumers
by Sanyal on 2015-07-24
Buy only and only for the hinge mechanism i.e. 360 degree swing and a better ips display. Besides that its a waste.
the hardware looks good on paper but throttled by stupid lenovo settings. And talk of body - its a shame. The top is mag/aluminium but rest is plastic - absolutely scartch and stain prone. And the plastic has some stain retaining power - thank you lenovo for made in china material! The key travel is less and it flexes. And you cannot upgrade anything. Bt in usa uk they give so many options to customise bt for india nooooo... double standards.
So lots of other cons that outweighs pros.
So in nutshell,
I wont recommend a lenovo product ever.
Ps: when i called their customer care, their response was - okay... okay... ohh... well sir in that case we will forward ur feedback to our china team ?? wtf! Who is going to solve my current problem? The piss poor build quality - well sir its not covered in our policy! So again lenovo sucks.
