Nokia Asha 502 Cyan - Expert Reviews
Nokia has finally been taken out of its misery and fortunately for it, has gone into the hands of a company that is willing to take it into a direction for which it aimed at. The new owner is Microsoft and since Nokia was already collaborating with it for its Windows based phone, the new venture should not be too difficult for either of them to get along. However, the device we have is not a Windows phone or even a smartphone but a low-end budget phone Nokia Asha 502. The Asha series for Nokia has always been directed at the middle class segment of the country and the same has been continued with boosted features. Nokia Asha 502 runs on the Nokia Asha software platform and features a QVGA 3 inches capacitive touchscreen that has a feeble resolution of 320 by 480 pixels.
The LCD screen has various sensors for aid along with the capacitive multitouch technology for faster swiping. The gadget is dual SIM and is perfect for those who need two tariff plans for connecting with friends and family members. The battery strength of Nokia Asha 502 is slightly less than its siblings, Nokia Asha 500 and Nokia Asha 503 but the performance is far from what one would call lackluster. A massive 13.7 hours of talk time can be carved out from the device along with 24 days of standby time. The music playtime is huge too with 42.3 hours and the music player is obviously the source for all the popular songs apart from the FM radio whereas, the video player enables the user to watch videos in various formats. The internet is accessible through Wi-Fi, HTML browser, GPRS and EDGE with an acceptable downloading speed.
USB 2.0 port and Bluetooth are the data connectivity elements that help in data exchange endeavors. The 5 megapixels camera performs better than most that we have seen with other smartphones even with low light backgrounds. Fixed focus and LED flash are some of the features that accompany the user. Video recordings are not as impressive but good enough to work in case of emergency. No secondary camera is provided which is an expected decision from a gadget of this price range. The device does not support 3G technology but comes with some pre-installed applications that may come in handy including popular ones like WhatsApp, Foursquare, Facebook and Twitter. There are ten downloadable games that are on offer on the Nokia store. The default memory allows the user to keep 4000 contacts within the device while a 4GB memory card is included as well. Another 32GB can be placed in the device with the help of a 32GB microSD card slot.
