Apple is expected to release 4 iPhone 12 models by the end of this year, all of which will bolster 5G connectivity. Since these models support 5G connectivity, they might be priced higher than anticipated. But, according to a new Wedbush Securities report, Apple will launch a cheaper version of the iPhone 12 that will only support 4G. These will come with a lighter price tag than the 5G version and are expected to be unveiled by Q1 of next year. This report came after a recent supply chain check conducted in Asia. Business Insider reports that these 4G-only iPhone 12 will be revealed as soon as February 2021. Wedbush has predicted the price of the non-5G iPhone to stand at around $800. Meanwhile, the 5G iPhone 12 models are conjectured to be priced at $1000. “Price points will be aggressive as Apple goes after their broader customer base,” David Ives, an analyst with Wedbush said. “Especially in a recession, in a COVID-19 backdrop, they need to make sure they’re hitting all price categories.”
