Redmi 9 expected to be unveiled on 4th Aug, to go on sale as a part of Amazon Prime Day

Redmi India has posted a series of tweets teasing the launch of a new device for the Indian markets on Aug 4. and have already included a notification option for users who are interested in being alerted of the device’s launch. The sale of the device will be a part of the Amazon Prime Day launches, hinted by the extensive use of “prime” in the teasers. The teased device is believed to be the Redmi 9. In one of the teasers post on the company’s social media, the word reads “PRIME” and its shadow reads “NINE”. Redmi 9 was launched in China the last month, starting at CNY 799 (roughly INR 8,500) and is expected to be priced similarly in the Indian market as well. The Redmi 9, during its launch in China, was made available in 3 variants, the top model stood at 6GB RAM + 128GB storage (priced at roughly INR 12,800), the middle variant with 4GB RAM + 128GB (priced at about INR 10,600) and the starting variant with 4GB RAM + 64 GB storage. It came with 3 color options: Carbon black, Mordecin, Neon Blue, and Lotus Root Powder. In India, the final pricing will be revealed on Aug 4. Redmi 9 Specs & Features Powered with a 2GHz MediaTek Helio G80 octa-core processor, the Redmi 9 supports a 6.53-inch full-HD+ (1,080x2,340 pixels) display. The display comes with a tiny drop notch & Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It packs a quad-cam rear camera set-up, with a 13MP primary lens, an 8 MP ultra-wide-angle lens, a 5MP macro shooter, and a 2 MP depth sensor. The selfie camera stands at an 8 MP. In terms of connectivity, the Redmi 9 supports 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth v5, Wi-Fi Direct, FM Radio, NFC, GPS, AGPS, 3.5mm audio jack, USB Type-C port, and infrared sensor. Lastly, it is equipped with a 5020mAh battery paired with 8W Quick Charge 3.0 fast charging support.
