DigiLocker Now Allows You To Apply For Passport; Here's How To Use It

Digilocker has emerged as one of the best made in India app. It allows you to keep all your government issued documents at a single place. From driving license, Aadhaar card, PAN card, to your mark sheets of different institutes, the app allows you to keep all that in one place. The latest news regarding the app is that now it has a passport registration portal that accepts passport applications. You just need to upload all the necessary documents on the app. This will surely remove all the hassle people were previously going through. The portal has been started in collaboration with the Passport Seva Programme. The list of documents that can be shared via your DigiLocker account are a Driving license, an Aadhaar card, a caste certificate, pension certificate, arms license, driving license, a PAN card, the insurance policy certificate, etc.

How To Apply For Passport Via DigiLocker App?

  • Firstly you have to create an account on the DigiLocker app if you don't have one.

  • Now upload all your documents on the app including the ones mentioned above.

  • Now open the passport Seva portal and fill in all the required details and then visit the document uploading screen.

  • Tap on the fetch from DigiLocker option wherever required and your document will be uploaded successfully on the portal.
Note: For the documents, you don't have on DigiLocker, the portal shows a message saying 'uploading failed'.
